Jura, I have memories of our meeting - the patterns of my encounters here written with my body.
The Isle of Jura is part of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and I was remembering meandering along the shoreline, north from Craighouse. Silver sands, rippling waves in all shades of blues and greens, reflections of land and sky; glimpses of sea creatures, seaweed and debris suspeneded in the clear waters; mutability of place, space and time.
ECHOES OF THE SEA series: Fabrications of tidal caves and shoreline spaces, of slippery surfaces and joyful times. I let my body, my spirit, sink into the making, guiding my hands to shape forms that could be of/from the sea. Rocks and shells and creatures and waves and sounds and smells and feelings; where sea meets shore, the spaces of flotsam and jetsam and imagination. #sensuouspractice
