I DANCEDandDANCEDandDANCED AND WITH EVERY BEAT A PART OF ME WAS FREED 1985to1991

Working intuitively, remembering dancinganddancinganddancing in the 80's; living for the moment in the beat, the  rhythms of house music resonating within, freedom to move my body, your body, our bodies, to free my mind. This painting was made using a silicone blade continuously moving wet paint and making gestural punctuations with ballooons and thrown paint and sparkly things.

Repetition and rhythm,  the beats pulsating as my body gyrates - and so I become freer, less inhibited, looser, thoughts and emotions intermingling, energy generated, absorbed, released; coming apart and then synchronizing; senses being freed up, letting go…

PERDURANCE series: Exploration of my interpretation of the concept of perdurance, where individuals are composed of temporal parts that are constantly changing dependant on time and the relationships with others. Durational works made in response to corporeal encounters running/walking/dwelling and documenting as a sensing being, they are extensions of the rythms of the body. The repetitive acts of chaining and knotting are a meditative process connecting past, present and future in iterative loops. In perdurance my form, my thoughts, my spirit is not fixed: mmiri mmiri / I am fluid. #sensuouspractice
