Remembering a particular running encounter, painting intuitively, whole body active, continuously moving paint and making gestural punctuations. Moving with energy and breath and fatigue, and sunshine and happiness.
Running log 6.2.15; 11:09; 3C sunny; 162 minutes.
Space, time, boundlessness; Wind ripping the breath as the day reveals itself. Sun hazy lemon: cool, barely warming yet inviting to engage, to celebrate - I am alive for one more day.
Repetition and rhythm, my feet hitting the ground over and over and over, my breathing ragged, coming apart and then synchronizing; senses being freed up, letting go…
PERDURANCE series: Exploration of my interpretation of the concept of perdurance, where individuals are composed of temporal parts that are constantly changing dependant on time and the relationships with others. Durational works made in response to corporeal encounters running/walking/dwelling and documenting as a sensing being, they are extensions of the rythms of the body. The repetitive acts of chaining and knotting are a meditative process connecting past, present and future in iterative loops. In perdurance my form, my thoughts, my spirit is not fixed: mmiri mmiri / I am fluid. #sensuouspractice
